Shashwat Dham is one of the spiritual paradises in Nepal. It is located in the Nawalparasi district. Chaudhary Foundation has built such a masterpiece of art, cultural heritage and architecture. And hence, it is also known as CG Temple. It took 16 years to build the Dham. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari inaugurated this temple on 7 March 2017.
Spread over verdant 12 acres land amidst scenic backdrops of Devchuli and Barchuli hills of Nawalparasi district in central Nepal, Shashwat Dham houses Ekambareshwor—The Shiva Temple.
The architecture of Shashwat Dham
The temple architecture follows the ancient style, the one that can be seen in the creations like Khajuraho or other similar temples. The towering edifice houses 16 different deities, with the sanctum sanctorum belonging to the Shivalinga.
The temple surrounded by a pond where holy waters from famous shrines such as Badri, Kedar, Haridwar, Muktinath, and Pashupatinath are pouring. Apart from the Temple, the Dham has a Vaidik Karmakanda Gurukul, Sri Center for Meditation and Yogic Sciences, heritage store, organic pure vegetarian restaurant, manuscript resource center, museum, spiritual souvenir store, and organic farm among others.
Shashwat Dham is not only about worship, but it is also about the enrichment of the inner, spiritual self. The place takes spiritual learning and education very seriously, both literally and metaphorically.
The Vaidik Karmakanda Gurukul is from young students who take admission in the ashram for education in the Vedic ways. They continue with their mainstream education as per the State Board syllabus along with the rules, rituals and inherent significances of Vedic literature, regulations and rituals and knowledge of performing pujas.
To make the knowledge of the ancient writings accessible to the current youth, the Manuscript Resource Center unearths and preserves as many as possible. There are expert scholars to decode the archived manuscripts and spread the Sanatana knowledge to the mass for their understanding.
The Center for Meditation and Yogic Sciences is a sanctuary for all seeking peace and happiness. The tranquil environment helps to calm the mind and relief from the stress of the outside world. The daily spiritual lectures and yoga sessions help them find their true self.
