The Western Development Region was one of Nepal’s five development regions. It was located in the west-central part of the country, with its headquarters located in Pokhara. 1. Ghandruk

Ghandruk is a Village Development Committee in the Kaski District of the Gandaki province of Nepal. Situated at a distance of 32 km north-west to Pokhara, the village is readily accessible by public buses and private taxis from the provincial headquarter. Annapurna Conservation Area is Nepal’s largest protected area covering 7,629 km2 (2,946 sq mi) in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. 5. Kagbeni

Kagbeni is a village in the Upper Mustang of the Himalayas, in Nepal, located in the valley of the Kali Gandaki River. Administratively, Kagbeni is a Village Development Committee in Mustang District in the Dhawalagiri Zone of northern Nepal. It is one of the Best Places to Visit in Western Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 1200 people residing in 260 individual households. It lies on the trail from Jomsom to the royal capital Lo Manthang, near the junction with the trail to Muktinath.

7. Tatopani

Tatopani is a village in Sindhupalchok District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 3102 and had 613 houses in the village. Majority people are of ethnic Sherpa and Tamang. It is one of the Best Places to Visit in Western Nepal. Historically and today, it is a huge trading post between Nepal and China. Besishahar is a municipality and the district headquarters of Lamjung District in Gandaki Pradesh, Nepal. The Besishahar Municipality was formed by merging the existing Village Development Committees i.e. Besishahar, Gaunshahar, Udaipur, Chandisthan, Baglungpani (3,4,7,8 & 9 wards), Bajhakhet, Hiletaksar (9 no. ward) and Chiti and have 11 wards. Pisang is a village development committee in Manang District in the Gandaki Zone of northern Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census, it had a population of 307 people living in 105 individual households. It is one of the Best Places to Visit in Western Nepal. The village is located in the Marshyangdi River valley, directly south of Pisang Peak, north of Annapurna II, and west of Paungda Danda.

10. Marpha

Marpha is a village development committee in Mustang District in the Dhawalagiri Zone of northern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 1630 people living in 434 individual households. The name itself reflects the “mar” meaning hard-working and “pha” meaning people. It is one of the Best Places to Visit in Western Nepal. Tourism and mule rearing are the means of survival of the people of this place. The village is the apple capital in the nation, with Marpha brandy and jams produced from local fruits.
