Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple, located at an altitude of 3842m above sea level is a Hindu shrine in the Dolakha district of Nepal. It is a quick city escape which is 150 km far from Kathmandu. After 132km from Kathmandu to Charikot, there’s an 18km off-road from Charikot to Kuri Village and an hour hike from Kuri and there you reach Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple.
Kalinchowk Temple is a part of the Gaurishankar Conservation Area from where two rivers Sun Koshi and Tama Koshi rivers are sourced. It is a temple of Durga affiliated to Hinduism. The temple lies in Kalinchowk VDC in province 3 in Nepal. The place is very famous for its enormous beauty especially in wintertime when all the village is covered by snow. Many local and foreign tourists are attracted to this place every year.
• How to get there?
It is better to reserve a bus and go with family and friends. Even though, there are local buses available from Kathmandu Bus park. The buses mostly leave early in the morning which directly takes you to Kuri Village. Also, any travel and tour companies are there with packages for Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple.
• Where to stay?
It is better to stay at Kuri Village on the first day. The next morning will be an hour hike to Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple. Else, you can take rest at Charikot. Then take all the time you can and travel to Kuri the next day.
• Are there places to stay?
If you are planning to stay in Charikot, you don’t have to worry about places to stay. In the case of Kuri, there are few hotels. However, staying won’t be a problem. The rooms and food are reasonable.
